Nicholas Celozzi, an Elmhurst native and writer and producer of more than 20 films is beginning casting in the Chicago area for a new reality show.

Celozzi is working with the Los Angeles-based Emmy award-winning film production company The Wolper Organization and began casting this week for the show titled "The Nick of Time."

Auditions began this week and end Jan. 7.

Actors can send resumes and head-shots to Claire at Claire@simoncasting.com, 312-202-0124 or visit www.simoncasting.com.

A press release described the show along the lines of "Hoop Dreams," the celebrated feature documentary that followed three inner-city African-American athletes pursuing the lofty and possibly unreachable goal of NBA superstardom. "The Nick of Time" takes the same approach — but with acting — with a “less PBS vibe and a lot more BRAVO TV attitude,” according to a press release.

The show will chronicle a handful of up-and-coming, 20-to-30-year-old actors and actresses who try to "set Chicago on fire, in hopes that they will soon move on to superstardom in the feature film world," according to a press release.

In "The Nick of Time," Celozzi takes on the task of teaching the acting students.

"The Nick of Time" will be filmed in Chicago in January and will air on a Network next year.

Celozzi runs his film business both in Chicago and Los Angeles and wrote and produced more than 20 independent films and licenses them to Warner Brothers, Showtime, USA Cable and Sony among others.
